The AdSense app gives a quick overview of your revenue by showing estimated earnings for today, yesterday, current month and last month. It also offers access to information like top sites, top custom and URL channels, and top ad units.

Strangely, the app doesn't seems to support tablets and latest smartphones such as Galaxy S4, HTC One, Xperia ZL, etc. However, incompatible device users can simply overcome this limitation by sideloading the APK file of the Adsense app.

Google recently removed the Stop download option from the right-click menu of YouTube videos, leaving a lot of users with rage. The ability to stop YouTube videos from downloading was perhaps pretty useful for users with a slow internet connection who simply prefer to stop the playback to watch the video(s) at a later time or in case one just want to read the comments on an already watched video.

Apparently, the Pause option now handles the Stop functionality as pausing the video stops it from buffering after a short while. Strangely, clicking ‘Pause’ to stop video download just doesn’t works often as the video keeps loading when its paused. Even if it works, it’s an annoyance for slow connection users who instead preferred to pause the video, to let it completely buffer first, hence to enjoy a non-choppy playback.

Though, we can’t bring the good old YouTube buffering mechanism back but there are some feasible ways to Add back the Stop download function on YouTube, in order to completely stop the video from downloading. All credits to Subigya aka SK.

How to Stop YouTube Video from Downloading -

Method 1 – Using a Bookmarklet, certainly the easiest way that works with all browsers (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox, Opera). To use it, simply drag and drop the below bookmarklet to your Bookmarks toolbar. To stop a YouTube video while watching, just click on the bookmarklet and your video will stop right there.

Method 2 – Using a Userscript, to add a Stop Video button on the YouTube interface itself. This adds a "Stop Video" button next to the Subscribe button under YouTube videos. Clicking on it stops the video and it also looks cool.

Stop YouTube Video Download [Userscript]

~ To install the userscript

In Firefox, you first need to install the Greasemonkey add-on. Then open the userscript webpage and click on Install button.

In Chrome, you need to download the userscript on your computer by right-clicking the Install icon and select Save link as. Then go to Tools > Extensions, drag the downloaded script onto the Extensions page and click Install.

Both the above ways require just a single-click to stop video. Do share them! :)

Recorded a video and sadly it ended up having a bad audio like an unwanted speech or noise in the background? Well if you aren’t happy with the original audio in a video, then you can choose to either remove the audio from video file or replace audio in a video with some suitable music or your own recorded voice. Though, this task can be simply done using a video editing software but that’s a technical job and perhaps not convenient for a layman. Fortunately, there’s an amazing free program ‘Freemake Video Converter’ that lets you easily accomplish this uneasy task in a few clicks!

Freemake Video Converter is a freeware that offers a quality alternative to paid products without any limitations. This full-featured converter has an easy to use interface and supports a variety of input & output video and audio formats. It offers the ability to convert almost any video format to most popular video formats such as AVI, MP4, WMV, MKV, 3GP, MPEG, FLV, DVD, MP3, HTML 5, etc. [All supported formats]

How to Remove Audio from Video & Add Audio in a Video using Freemake Video Converter –

1. Download and install the software on your Windows. (Note: During installation, it’s recommended to choose Custom install to prevent the installation of bundled apps like Delta toolbar and Wartune game.)

2. Open the program, add the video(s). It supports batch conversion, so you can add and convert multiple video files at once. (Use Drag n drop to quickly add files.)

3. Click on the audio setting as shown and make your selection. You can delete audio or add a new audio with formats like MP3, WAV, WMA, AC3, M4A, AMR, etc.

4. Then choose the output video format which could be same as the input video format. In output video parameters, let preset be ‘Same as source’ or choose a custom one.

Hit Convert, your video would be ready quickly with a high quality output. :)

Looking forward to root HTC One on Mac OS and make it more awesome by enabling access to root applications or custom ROM? Well, you can easily root all variants of HTC One (AT&T, Sprint, T-mobile, International, Unlocked) if you’ve an unlocked bootloader and have a custom recovery (CWM or TWRP) installed. The process of rooting HTC One involves unlocking the device bootloader and then booting into custom recovery to flash the root files. Follow the procedure below to root HTC One (M7) on Mac!

Tutorial – Rooting & Installing CWM Custom Recovery on HTC One using Mac

Step 1 – Unlock HTC One Bootloader (using a Mac). Note: This will WIPE entire data on your device. So, take a backup of all your personal and important data.

Step 2 – Download the required files:

Step 3 – Copy the ‘htcone-fastboot’ folder to Home directory in Finder. Also, copy the downloaded custom recovery .img file for your model to htcone-fastboot folder.

Screen Shot 2013-07-03 at 12.42.40 AM

Step 4 – Transfer the ‘UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.34.zip’ file to your phone’s root storage.

‘Enable USB Debugging’ on your phone. (Settings > Developer options)

Now “Power off” the device. Then press the Volume Down + Power button simultaneously to start the device into Bootloader mode (HBOOT).

Highlight Fastboot using the volume buttons and press the Power button to enter into Fastboot mode.

Connect the device to the computer via a USB cable.

Step 5 – Open Terminal on Mac (Applications > Utilities). In terminal, type the following lines of code after the $, hit return (enter) after each line. In second line, type your user name as seen in Finder, and without the brackets. Refer below image:

cd /Users/
cd [your username]
cd htcone-fastboot
./fastboot-mac flash recovery [name of recovery .img file]
./fastboot-mac erase cache

Screen Shot 2013-07-04 at 1.13.22 AM

Note: If you don’t want to flash custom recovery, then use the below command instead (in 4th line). This will rather temporarily boot the device into custom recovery, letting you root the phone without installing CWM recovery.

./fastboot-mac boot [name of recovery .img file]

Rooting: While you’re in fastboot, highlight the “Bootloader” option and press power button. Now select and open ‘Recovery’ from bootloader mode. In CWM, choose ‘install zip from sdcard’ (use volume keys to navigate and power key to select on non-touch recovery), select ‘choose zip from sdcard’, then select the file ‘UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.34.zip’ to flash. Upon completion, select ‘Go Back’ and ‘Reboot system now’.

Voila! After the device reboots, you should see the SuperSU app installed and root privileges on your HTC One. :)

WebTrickz Updates | Fix – MS Excel & Word 2010/ 2013 Hangs at ‘Opening in Protected View’ in Windows 8

Fix – MS Excel & Word 2010/ 2013 Hangs at ‘Opening in Protected View’ in Windows 8

Posted: 26 Jul 2013 01:15 PM PDT

Those using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel 2010 or 2013 must have noticed that Outlook attachments and documents originating from the Internet or a potentially unsafe location, are opened in Protected view. Protected View is a read-only mode where most editing functions are disabled. While this security feature was implemented to protect users from any kind of malware that can harm their computer but it might become annoying too. There seems an issue with Office 2010 and Office 2013 in Windows 8 where most office documents (Word, Excel or PowerPoint file) downloaded as an email attachment, on opening just hangs and get stuck at a screen titled 'Opening in Protected View'. We have no idea as why this happens but luckily there is an easy workaround to fix this issue and open your office files like before!

26-07-2013 16-22-17

Method 1Disable Protected View for Word, Excel, PowerPoint in Office 2013 & 2010 (You need to do this specifically for the relevant office program such as Word, Excel, or PowerPoint.)

  1. Go to File > Options.
  2. Open Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Protected View.
  3. Uncheck the first 3 options from the right panel and hit Ok.

27-07-2013 01-05-42

Now all your MS office files will open up normally instead of Protected mode.

Method 2Unblock the document (Recommended)

Those who don't wish to disable the protected view (offers enhanced security) must use this method. But here you first need to manually unblock every protected document to open it normally such as relevant .doc/.docx, .xls/.xlsx, .ppt/.pptx files.

To Unblock a protected file, right-click on the saved document and open its properties. Under General tab, click on the Unblock option next to Security "This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer."

26-07-2013 19-13-13

Now try opening the file and it should open fine even with Protected View enabled.
